Hard-Fi Chat To I Like Music

I love it when a plan comes together.

ILM: What's been your favourite track to play live?

Richard: 'Hard to Beat' is going crazy at the moment. We were in Bristol yesterday and I was wondering if my voice was going to last on tour, but the crowd sings it for me, so that's going well. But the most fun playing is probably 'Unnecessary Trouble', that's always a good laugh, and 'Living for the Weekend' is the last number, so is a high energy one, but after last night… Hard To Beat.

ILM: What's the funniest/weirdest thing that's happened on tour so far?

Richard: We've just been in Europe and it's weird because, in Germany, (although I like Germany, we've toured there and the people are really nice) you can't get a good breakfast and they can't make tea. You ask for a cup of tea and they bring you some herbal thing - no, we need caffeine! That's the whole point, c'mon! So we have to take out our own tea bags. That sounds terribly Little England and colloquial, and generally we're very European. But you need your tea. And I can't get my head round the selection of meats - that's not breakfast, it's a sandwich.
