ILM: Is there a track you like to play live the most?

Jared: Right now it's a track that will be on our upcoming album. The track is called Last Night In Brooklyn. It has a half time feel, if you doubled the beat up it'd be in the bpm range of drum-n-bass. But we keep it cut in half, it's a head nodder. Since most of our stuff is not at this tempo, when we break into it live it really makes a statement. It's like when you hear a DJ drop a really sick song, and everyone goes "oooooh sh*t" that was actually the working title for the song when we wrote it. "Oh sh*t" - for that exact reason.

ILM: Can you describe the innerpartysystem process of writing and recording such good music?

Jared: Early on Patrick wrote most of the material, but when we formed into a full band it definitely became more of a group effort. Now most songs revolve around a synth sound or beat someone has created. It's much more of an experimental process. Someone will just jam on a beat they programmed, sometimes for days and days, until a synth line or melody pops up. Sometimes nothing ever comes of it. And we will spend weeks twisting knobs. Other times a song erupts out of it almost instantly. It's unpredictable.
