ILM: Have you got any advice for others looking to get into the music industry?

Jared: As a band, don't. Don't put an ounce of thought into the industry when you start a band. If you are making good music, and putting on good shows, they will come to you. Like we have discussed in the question above, it is more than easy to discover new music now. Don't get caught up in the business politics earlier than you have to. The days of spending your life savings on a demo and scurrying around the country from music conference to music conference shoving your demo in every A&R guy's face are completely over.

ILM: What are the future plans for innerpartysystem?

Bigger and better, we are always looking to do better. With our live show, light show, songs, programming, whatever. As far as our actual schedule, I'm sure we will be touring relentlessly in support of our full length release coming early this fall which we couldn't be more happy about. Touring is a blast.

ILM: What's in your CD player right now? (What are you listening to for pleasure?)

Jared: Pharoah Monche, new Coldplay album, as well as doing that whole revisiting old classics that everyone does from time to time. I've been revisiting the hardcore days, old Hot Water Music, Cave In, Quicksand. I like going back to the stuff that got me started in all of this from time to time. page << 1 2 3 4 5 6 >>
