Mylo: ilikemusic because... It makes me feel funny
John: ilikemusic because... it evokes my emotions like nothing else.
lolo: ilikemusic because... music is where some people display affection, show emotions and actually showing off who they are and their thinking. it is special unlike anything cos it goes out and never comes in back but in others.
Ciarran, The Feeling: ilikemusic because... I find it constantly inspiring and it’s a joy to listen to and a joy to play; it really is a huge part of my life.
Robyn: ilikemusic because... It’s the way I want to express myself. It’s not a choice. It’s just always been there. It’s just what I do.
Sian Evans: ilikemusic because... when everyone you cared about lets you down (e.g. friends, boyfriend, parents) all at the same time music will always be there to pick you up and help you move on. ;-)
Rob X: ilikemusic because... it puts me in the mood...for anything i feel like!
Cesar Sangwa: ilikemusic because... it's there for me through thick and thin, highs and lows. I think about it when I wake up, and when I close my eyes to sleep. I like music because I'm in love with it!
Benedict D. Mahon Esq.: ilikemusic because... the wardrobes stop barking when the bass kicks in
ilm: And is the mixing style on the album the same as the live show, with this unique way you guys are going to play?
JZ: Yeh the Q2DualDJ is what we are going to use when we play out. The CD was actually made with CDJ's and Ableton, and just really taking tracks apart and putting them back together. If you know any of the tracks on the CD, it is going to be different from what you remember, because we really did take apart every single track, but without it sounding too sequenced and done one a computer. There is some scratching and feedback loops, which I did live on turntables and stuff, and we chopped those and put them in as well to give it a feel of both worlds.
ilm: Can you tell me a bit more about the special mixer/box you have had developed to enable your mixing together?
JZ: Yeah, its not a mixer, it's a little box, and it's dead simple. If you have ever seen any one use Vinyl Scratch. it's kinda like that. All your sources plug into it, and then they have an output for each source, and that plugs back into the mixer. It's a headphone port with 4 headphone cues (or 8, there is two versions, 4 channel and 8 channel) and it's basically another set of cues' so it allows you to simultaneously cue the same source or different sources independently through two sets of headphones. So yeah, its not a mixer, I wish someone would make a mixer with that device built into it, but I don't know how much call there would be for it. Only back-to-back DJs would use it...
