Joe Lean And The Jing Jang Jong Chat To I Like Music
Joe Lean and The Jing Jong formed in late 2006 and have continued to work incredibly hard. After playing their first gig in 2007 they have supported Babyshambles, Dizee Rascal, CSS and Kaiser Chiefs, as well as completing their own UK headline tour in December 2007.
We caught up with Dom to talk about how Joe Lean and The Jing Jang Jong, go about making music that makes you want to have a good sing sang song…and perhaps a cheeky little dance as well. We also chatted about their incredibly hectic summer schedule and gained a little advice from Dom on how to succeed as a musician…
"I Like Music because… it injects the fire inside you like nothing else." DOM, JOE LEAN AND THE JING JANG JONG
ILM: Your brand new single, Where Do You Go, is out now. Can you describe the vibe of the track?
Dom: It's one of the first songs we wrote together. It has always been one of our favourite ones. It is quite heavy in the verses. With a nice stroppy chorus and a hefty instrumental outro. We recorded it for our album and, after listening back to it later, we realised that it was insanely fast. We re-recorded it and took loads of care over getting it sounding perfect. We are all really pleased with it.

Jun: ilikemusic because... music can convey a mood, enhance a mood or change a mood. Music can be used to inspire and the artform is simple yet complicated. It's fun to listen to and even more fun to create and perform. It speaks when just a simple word can't. It's a blessing!!
