ILM: What did you learn about making music while making this album?

Dom: It was a mental time. We still hadn't been together that long. We had done a quarter of the gigs we had done now. We had to just go and do a tour with Dizzee Rascal right in the middle of recording! I think we all enjoyed working under pressure. That's how we made ourselves do some of the b-sides. We just booked out two days and wrote and recorded some songs in a couple of 12 hour sessions.

We developed a good way of working together. After recording the album we worked out how to work with each other. We have got better and better at recording. Also from the production side of things, we recorded with a guy called John Cornfield and we always had our heads over his shoulder, asking what he was doing and making sure that nothing happened that we didn't want to. We wanted to get absolute perfect mixes in terms of our vision. We enlisted another dude to help us mix it so we could tell him exactly what we wanted, every part. We worked on it until it was perfect. It has been a very detailed process.
