Mutya Buena: ilikemusic because... It’s something I’ve grown up listening to, I enjoy singing I don’t think I know what I’d do without music to tell you the truth. It helps me out in so many ways.
Kal Lavelle: ilikemusic because... it's cheaper than a therapist! ;)
Steve, Hard-Fi: ilikemusic because... Life is not worth living without it. Everything else could disappear, but music is the one thing that always remains with me throughout my entire life.
fiorella: me gusta la musica porque es super
Sylvia Powell: ilikemusic because... It can make me happy yet it can make me feel sad. It helps me remember, but it can also make me forget. Most of all I like music because it makes me feel alive.
Kano: ilikemusic because... It brings people together. It makes people smile and dance, it makes people happy. I like the energy it gives off.
Ellen, Los Campesinos: ilikemusic because... It’s the best form of escapism that you can have wherever you are. You could be completely miserable or waiting for a bus and put on any song that inspires you and you can escape into a little world, well that’s what I tend to do anyway.
Rob Miller: ilikemusic because... I liked your site.
gpm100: ilikemusic because... I just do!!!!!ILM: Your album The Historical Conquests of Josh Ritter album came out last year, which track did you enjoy laying down the most and why?
JOSH: That's tough because I write a lot of songs and most of them don't go on record. The ones I really love are the ones that end up making it, so I'm usually having a ball when I'm putting down whatever song on to a record. But Open Doors in terms of recording, I was writing the verses as the music was going. I recorded all the music first and then sat there while the music was playing and wrote and then sang over the top, it felt pretty mad cap.
ILM: Please can you describe the JOSH RITTER music making process? Lyrics first then melody or vice versa or random?
JOSH: It changes every time. I think that is one thing that is fairly constant with me is that wherever the different working method seems to come from, I try to follow it. I feel that comes in the same way that lyrics or melody comes, it's a way to capture those things and I think you just have to be open to doing it differently almost every time.
