ILM: You also released What A Wonderful World as a download for Make Poverty History. How important do you think it is these days for artists to do what they can to make a difference?

RICHARD: It was a song for Comic Relief to use on their fund raising show, and as a download. We've also recorded a couple of songs for Warchild - these are things that make a difference to people's lives. I bought a copy of the original Warchild "Help" album - it had a load of brilliant songs, and raised money to help kids who grow up in war zones.

We've been trying to support them too - we are very proud to be patrons of Warchild. The recent "Help - A Day In The Life" record has raised money that has already been used to get kids out of adult prisons in Afghanistan, for example. And i don't think you can question that this is a good thing. We don't bang on about it, but we do what we can. We get involved in things we believe in, just like most people do.
