Kevin Michael chats to I Like Music
'It Don't Make Any Difference To Me (1 Love)' is the brand new single by Kevin Michael set for release on October 8th.
Produced by Wyclef Jean who brings a Caribbean flavour to the mix, the song shows both the range of Kevin's songwriting abilities and the depth of his pride at who he is.
I Like Music caught up with rising star, Kevin Michael, to talk about his music, working with the likes of Wyclef, Lupe Fiasco and Q-Tip and the importance of following dreams.

ILM: Your new single, It Don't Make Any Difference To Me (1 Love) is out October 22. It's got a Caribbean uplifting flavour. Can you describe its whole vibe and how the track came about?
KEVIN: This is actually one of the oldest songs on the album. I've been working with the head of my label from downtown since 2004. We had a bunch of songs we'd panned out but never fleshed out and recorded and made into big productions, so it was written in 2005. We always envisaged it was this reggae, Caribbean calypso music to it, but we didn't know who would be the perfect person to produce it. So somebody mentioned Wyclef and it was like, well that makes sense. My manager used to manage one of Wyclef's groups and I've known Wyclef for five years now but I've never had the chance to work with him in the studio together, so I said ok that's cool lets try it. So we did the song with Wyclef in December, he's the last producer I worked with and it turned out great.
