Kevin Michael chats to I Like Music
ILM: Lupe Fiasco features on the album's opener 'We All Want The Same Thing' and Too Blessed feature. Q-Tip.Tell us about those tracks and what it was like working with Loopay and Q-Tip?
KEVIN: Unfortunately I don't have any great stories about working with them, because we have this wonderful technological advance called Pro-Tools where you can just send files out to somebody and they can just send files back. I wasn't in the studio with either of them. But I have had the chance to meet and talk with both of them. Q-Tip I met probably nine months ago. I did a show in New York and he DJ'd my show. That was crazy, I kept looking out the curtains before I went on stage and saying, 'is that Q-Tip right there DJing at my show, like is that really happening? So I went over to him and thanked him for being on the record, but I think I kind of freaked him out, because, it's weird when the first thing you say to someone is, 'hey, how you doin'? You're my idol and that's what I said to him. Because I'm a fan, I've watched him my entire life. He's God to me.
