ILM: So, like an introduction…?
KEVIN: Exactly. So the song starts out: "all you've got to do is look at me, three generations of my family you see." So I'm the third generation, my mother and her brothers and sisters are the second generation. First generation is my grandparents in the 60s when it was so taboo when a white and a black man got together, so much in fact that they had to leave the town that they were from. It's crazy. So that's what the song is about, it's autobiographical.
ILM: The album was produced by Wyclef Jean - what did you learn from him about music making/production, as he's somewhat legendary?
