KEVIN: I learned that, in my opinion, the greats are in control of their own destiny and that includes the music. When you go to work with Wyclef, you're going to his studio, run by him, paid for him, everybody is employed by him. He has his family working there; he has his close circle of friends working there. He keeps it all under one umbrella, and I really admire that. With the music He's so in touch with a feeling of a song, more than just the musicality of a song if that makes sense. So to watch him work from one spectrum to the next…. and I could never put my finger on what's going through his mind. It's like, 'how did you know that the snare once it was brought up three DDs would sound ten times better than it does now?' Little small things… he has his own engineer he's been working with for years, their relationship… there's a real trusting vibe in that studio. It's great.
ILM: So everyone connects with each other really well?
