Kevin Michael chats to I Like Music
KEVIN: Absolutely. Of course he has Gerry Wonder with him at all times. He has his brother and his young nephews working there. He always keeps young people around too. He'll have separate rooms in his studio. So he'll be working in one room and another person will be in another room. I think while I was working there Swizz Beats was in another room. Busta Rhymes came through to do a verse in another room, so it's a great working musical environment
ILM: Like an extended musical family?
KEVIN: Exactly.
ILM: Your new Kevin Michael self titled album, is out October 29, which track did you enjoy laying down the most?
KEVIN: I guess every song has its own story. The most fun I think was Liquid Lava Love because I did the song in Atlanta, with one of my favourite producers, Brian Kidd. He also did Love Letter. Those are the songs that we did together that made the album. But we actually recorded 12 songs together. He's one of my favourite producers to work with. I went to Atlanta last summer for the first time and I was supposed to go for a week and I ended up staying a month and a half. It was great/ I fell in love with Atlanta and the vibe there.
