Kevin Michael chats to I Like Music
I was literally staying at Brian Kidd's house. I just moved in to one of his spare bedrooms and we just recorded from 6pm through to 8 in the morning. And that was born from this… we did a couple of days where we wanted to do nothing but sexy records. I did record it with a lava lamp next to me the whole time. I can remember being in the booth and it was one of those lava lamps that change colour. So it was blue and purple and pink and red, and it was really cool. And we did another song together that didn't make the album that we recorded in a shower. It's called The Shower and we really recorded the song in the shower.That's why I love Brian Kidd, we're very experimental people. We're like mad scientists. If a song's called Liquid Lava Love, then how can you not have a lava lamp while you're recording the song. So little things like that inspire me and help me to be creative.
