Everyone who has ever been through anything hard can relate to that.

ILM: Of all the tracks on your debut album, Mother, which one did you have the most fun laying down in the studio?

Harry: Chemical. Everyone who's like me and has gone out and done the substances and come down on them afterwards will be able to relate to it. And also, it was a completely different sounding piece of music before we started recording it. Youth just said lets try doing something different, and we just changed it completely. What he did was, he put on one his old post-rock bands like Mogwai, and he said, 'ok, listen to that chord sequence. Now go and do your representation of that chord sequence.' So we did it and it turned out like Chemical, nothing like the original or the song he'd played us. And then we went out and practiced it and he was recording it while we were practicing it, and that's the actual recording that we actually used.
