ILM: Youth and you guys nailed nine tracks in eight days. How was that experience?

Harry: That was great but we spent another three weeks polishing everything and finishing it off. So that was a creative experience. We didn't make the album in three weeks. Youth was our last resort. We'd spent seven months and all of our recording budget on different producers and what we had was good but nobody thought it was the right sound for the band, and then Matt Jagger who was the head of A&R at the time said, 'Try Youth out, we've got three weeks, that's all you've got - there's no more money after that, and see what happens.' So the pressure of that and the frustration of the past seven months not getting much done conspired to make us all really in a creative mood at the time, and we knew it was now or never; we had to do it.
