Laura Izibor Chats To ilikemusic

20 year old, Dublin born Laura Izibor has already been compared to a string of impressive female soul singers, including the likes of Candi Staton, Roberta Flack, Alicia Keys and Aretha Franklin. She has performed numerous sold-out shows in Ireland, as well as opening for luminaries such as Angie Stone, James Brown, The Roots, Jamie Cullum and Al Green. In 2006 she guested with Nitin Sawhney at the BBC Electric Proms and has recently sepnt time writing with him on his new album. In 2006 she also made Irish music history by becoming the first unreleased artist ever to be nominated and to win a Meteor Irish Music Awards (Ireland's Brit Award) plus, she has just been confirmed as the support act for Aretha Franklin in New York 2009.

Aside from her exceptional voice, piano playing, song writing and captivating live performances, Laura has an unfaltering drive and passion for music. Having co-produced her debut album, she shows no signs of slowing down. Already desperate to get back in the studio we caught up with her after the release of her single From My Heart To Yours to chat about making music, discovering she could sing and her future plans.
