Leon Jean-Marie chats to I Like Music
Described as an Essex Funk 'n' Roller Leon Jean Marie does it all. A vocalist, producer and multi-instrumentalist who, having dreamt up his tunes in his home studio, is now working with some of the smartest producer-collaborators in the world, including Mark Ronson and Jason Cox. Leon Jean-Marie's limited edition seven-inch 'Scratch'/'Make It Right' is currently available for download on his myspace and was the spark that ignited a flame of interest in him across the globe. I Like Music caught up with Leon to chat about working with some of the greats, working his way to the top and why music is his biggest passion.
"I Like Music because…it transcends. It really creates emotion with someone. That feeling it gives you, it goes through boundaries. To create something, it just breaks through all the walls. When you connect with a song, that is it, that is magic isn't it?" LEON JEAN-MARIE
ILM: Your debut single Bed Of Nails is out now digitally and physically in April. Can you describe the track and its whole vibe?
LEON: The actual message of the song touches on the youth of today. The self destructive youth. I wanted to make it fun. I didn't want to be preachy about it.

simon f baker: ilikemusic because... you can transcend the confines of the material world with it, it's probably better than shagging in fact.
