Mark King of Level 42 chats to I Like Music


I do like Barbados as well actually, that's really cool. And I like Bali as well, that's a really cool place. And it breaks my heart that those guys get such a rough time with earthquakes and so much going wrong for them and it's such a shame because it really is like heaven down there.

But there's no place like home really.

ILM: I've got fond memories of popping over to the Isle of Wight to Black Gang Chine…

MARK: Yeah, that's right, that was always the high point of the summer holiday, and going there at night when it was all lit up.

ILM: And getting lost in the maze repeatedly.

[Mark and ILM laugh]

MARK: Yes. I had my very first kiss in the crooked house there when I was eight years old.

And, with that, Mark dashes off for another dip in the sea at home on the IOW for the last bit of relaxing before rehearsals and festival gigs kick off. Catch Level 42 live in the UK in October.
