ILM: How would you describe the Levi Roots process of making music?

Levi: I'm all about recording music in the way they did in the 70's and 80's. Recording real, live music. This is what I wanted to bring to this album. Ten people or so in the studio, create an album with ten influences on there. A pop record often has only one or two guys creating the beats. Red Hot is about a fusion of many people making love with one type of music. That was how it was done originally. That's why we still listen to things done back in the day.

ILM: Which other musicians were involved in Red Hot?

Levi: Some of the greatest reggae musicians! Everybody into reggae in the UK will know them! Mafia & Fluxy were the producers, they are producers of perhaps the most well known reggae rhythm section in the UK! We had Dean Fraser from Jamaica playing saxophone, we had players from UB40! It's all name, name, name dropping! It was great to be able to work with all these people!
