ILM: Which track on your new album, The Cool, did you have the most fun laying down in the studio?
LUPE: Probably Hello/Goodbye the one with Unkle, that was pretty fun; the production and the editing process, that was fun.
ILM: Your amazing wordplay conjures up vivid imagery. Your songs are melodic with depth to the lyrics. Let's be honest, you're hugely talented. Please describe the Lupe Fiasco process of making such brilliant music. Lyrics first or melody?
LUPE: It's random, so it'll be like getting a beat, then I could talk about anything and think, 'well that's a nice word,' but there'll be a theme. So I might think, right lets talk about robots, like on Daydreamin' for example. Also it's random and pro chaos, but within chaos there's definitely an order there, a DNA that constantly reveals itself, so I try to leave that in there as much as possible.
