I Like Music Because heading
  • JunJun: ilikemusic because... music can convey a mood, enhance a mood or change a mood. Music can be used to inspire and the artform is simple yet complicated. It's fun to listen to and even more fun to create and perform. It speaks when just a simple word can't. It's a blessing!!

  • Master GeeMaster Gee: ilikemusic because... It gives me an opportunity to truly express myself, unlike what happens in an everyday living situation where there are restrictions on you and limitations on you and demands on you and bills to pay, through music I can truly be comfortable with who I am, and do what I really want to do and say what I really want to say.
  • william youngwilliam young: ilikemusic because... The Boat That Rocked started the musical revolution for the musical nation.
  • Lupe FiascoLupe Fiasco: ilikemusic because... It gives me a chance to escape and reach people I wouldn’t ordinarily be able to reach. And without music the world would be kinda quiet.
  • DanielDaniel: ilikemusic because... When you can finally stop listening to mainstream so called POP and HIPHOP artists you laugh at how bad it really is. ROCK ON MUSE

Moby ‘Best Of’ - Interview

Here's the transcript of an interview with Moby about his Best Of album.

Q1: How did you select the tracks for your new album, "Go - The Very Best Of Moby"?

MOBY: Well, my criteria for picking what I think are the best songs I've ever written is criteria that no-one else would employ in picking their favourites of the songs I've written. My favourite songs I've written tend to be the ones that no-one else really likes that much, so most of the songs that are on the Greatest Hits or the Best Of are actually songs that I let my friends pick and I let people at the record company pick, because I feel like they're a lot more objective than I am.

Q2: Is it fair to say that the tracklisting includes your most successful singles?

MOBY: Yeah… I guess so. I mean, essentially when you're releasing a "Best Of", there has to be a populist component to it and, you know, in picking the songs, you're ideally picking the songs that most people who are going to be buying the record would probably concur with you on.
