kayla brooke: ilikemusic because... the lyrics say the words that you cant. And it helps me start out on a good foot everyday =)
susan rowe: ilikemusic because... it reaches the soul, sooths the mind, speaks volumes, lightens the heart. music is food for my soul.
Ellen, Los Campesinos: ilikemusic because... It’s the best form of escapism that you can have wherever you are. You could be completely miserable or waiting for a bus and put on any song that inspires you and you can escape into a little world, well that’s what I tend to do anyway.
Anastasia: ilikemusic because... It makes your feelings tangible - makes them into sounds and words - and makes you realise that you are not alone. It's the collective mind of the human race.
Sam, Get Cape Wear Cape Fly: ilikemusic because... Music is a special thing that is not like anything else in the world. You might argue that you can translate emotions through films and through books but anyone can make music, whether that be humming or singing along to the radio, it’s something that gives enjoyment and positivity to many people.
Hugo, The Maccabees: ilikemusic because... I just do. I’ve always liked music. It’s just my thing.
Sarah Christine: ilikemusic because... Music is like a puzzle. Each peice by itself is unique and looks like no other puzzle peice, but when you put it all together, you expeirience a completely different picture. It's on an almost daily basis that I find myself getting lost in my music, and I love it!
Alistair: ilikemusic because... you can relate to the lyrics and through music you can express your emotions and feelings.
Hard-Fi: ilikemusic because... what else is there to like?!
Q23: "Play" has now sold over 10 million copies. After years of struggle, how did you initially react to such a colossal success?
MOBY: It was strange. The success of "Play" was strange, because really throughout the course of my life I've had a lot of professional ups and downs. I mean, the first single I released under my own name was "Go" and that ended up being very successful and then throughout the 90s, I had lots of success, but in weird parts of the world.
Like I'd have a single that would be hugely successful in Finland or the album "Everything Is Wrong" was Spin magazine's Album of the Year and so there were lots of little ups and downs. The strange thing about "Play" was that it did really well just about everywhere and especially because when I released "Play", I thought my career was over and I thought no-one was going to like it and no-one was going to buy it, so the success that it had really completely took me by surprise.
