Muse chat to I Like Music

ILM: Muse have incredible talent and have written some amazing songs and elaborate riffs (such as Plug In Baby) can you describe the Muse process of making such flipping brilliant music please?

DOM: There's no set formula when it comes to writing our songs and making music. We've been playing together from a young age, even though we've come from Teignmouth, we always had enough inspiration to get out of our small town, and that only inspired us to create something different. Where we come from is so detached from everything else, it made us detach and remove ourselves from what was going on musically, and we've stayed in that sphere ever since. We've never felt part of anything in anyway. It's a unique feeling I think, as we've always been so musically free. And we've never been afraid to challenge everything y'know.

And in terms of the process of making a song, it's different inspirations coming from all over the place.

ILM: Lyrically this new album is impressive too; the idea that identity cards are the first sign of the onset of the end of the world in Take A Bow. If you could send a message to a corrupt world leader, what would it be?
