Muse chat to I Like Music

Every song really has probably got some kind of story. Because we really wanted to make every song very different and give it a different character and take a different approach to the recording side of things for each track.

ILM: So you enjoyed making the album as a whole, which is what it's all about.

DOM: Yeah, totally.

ILM: You toured solidly for seven years, culminating in headlining Glastonbury, and it was after that that you realized you'd definitely made it as you proved yourself as a formidable force in British rock. What Muse songs do you enjoy playing live the most?

DOM: Stockholm Syndrome has always been a favourite to play live because its easier to play than it sounds. It's just a good rocking track that's just pumping all the way through. So that's always be fun and we always play that at the end of the set, and go a bit crazy with that, and you always find an extra spurt of energy on your last song for some reason. So you can really give it loads, and often we'll end up kind of losing our minds and breaking the gear and the stage on that track.
