  • JunJun: ilikemusic because... music can convey a mood, enhance a mood or change a mood. Music can be used to inspire and the artform is simple yet complicated. It's fun to listen to and even more fun to create and perform. It speaks when just a simple word can't. It's a blessing!!
  • chantellchantell: ilikemusic because... it makes me good.
  • James BluntJames Blunt: ilikemusic because... conversation is so limited. It’s the best form of expression we have.
  • LalorLalor: ilikemusic because... you can make it anything you need
  • Jamie, OntarioJamie, Ontario: ilikemusic because... it makes me different from my friends but connects me to a whole world of other people.
  • Rachel SmallRachel Small: ilikemusic because... it make me feel alive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • O'BaileyO'Bailey: ilikemusic because... I can live vicariously through a song, whether it's a screaming angry rock anthem or a silly kids song ("I'm a little yellow fish" anyone?) haha!

Mutya Buena chats to I Like Music

Or sometimes, it's nice to see someone who has gone through it. It's not the nicest, but someone who has gone through that situation, someone you can look at and think, 'look how they look now to the way they could have looked' in terms of appearances, they let themselves down a lot of them. And if they could see that, maybe they might realise 'that's not how I want to be'. I think people are too quiet on it and its all hidden away from everyone.

ILM: You started in the Sugababes when you were 14 and grew up in NW London so you were in a band when others were hanging out on street corners...

MUTYA: We did that too (hang out on street corners)

ILM: Well, now you're someone that young girls look up to; an inspiration to them. Teenagers are facing a lot of pressure these days to be cool and do what their peers do, whether it's join a gang, do drugs or be promiscuous. What's your advice on dealing with peer pressure and earning respect from peers while still staying safe?
