Mutya Buena chats to I Like Music

ILM: You've got complementary voices I think.

MUTYA: Yeah, considering our voices are very different I think we blend quite well. And I like Dirty Dancing and, in the song, she's got that kind of Dirty Dancing feel to it as well, which is really nice.

MUTYA: The dark, distressed "Strung Out" is about drugs - sung from the perspective of a friend standing there watching someone kill themselves. Tell us more about the story behind that song and the message you're trying to address there?

MUTYA: It's a wake-up call. I'm no saint, and I try not to judge, but I know right from wrong. That song's about two young kids at school experimenting. They grew up together and everything they did, they did together. So their first time taking drugs was done together and it was only for fun, nothing too serious. Then they're growing up, like you do and they become partners and love each other (you can take it as a relationship or really good best friends).
