NE*YO: Absolutely, I was drop dead crazy in love with this girl, but the opinion of my friends and my friends' opinion of me was so important to me, that I basically let them convince me to cheat on her. They were doing the whole, 'this girl is controlling you,' 'you don't hang out with your fellas no more,' 'you've changed. And I let that get to me and I cheated on her. NE*YO: She definitely knows it's about her. There's a lot of very specific things within the song. July 15th really was our anniversary, and the whole thing with the answering machine, it's all very true and very precise, so she knows it's about her, but she hasn't tried to contact me or anything yet.
