Pete Tong chats to I Like Music

PETE: I was a late starter to making music. When I was running my own label I never really got round to it, I was a bit shy about it and then, obviously, I've just been busy. But, it's something I'm definitely feeling more comfortable about day by day. When you do A&R like I did, doing stuff yourself seems to get in the way. But now I don't do A&R, it's seems a very natural thing for me to do. So I had various relationships. I started off doing stuff with Steve Mac, then with Chris Cox in LA who I get on well with, but he lives so far away. Paul Harris… it's quite organic actually. Paul used to be a scout of mine at FFR years ago, when he first started out, before he was in Dirty Vegas. JP is Vern as in Stretch and Vern which was signed to me; one of the biggest UK hits we ever had. So going back in to the studio with two old mates is quite easy and they all live near me, so it's great. It's been good fun.
