Robyn is best known for her recent chart success with the fantastic singles 'With Every Heartbeat' and 'Handle Me'. However, this Swedish born artist has enjoyed musical success from a very young age, signed to Sony BMG aged only 13. With the up and coming release of her new single 'Be Mine' I Like Music caught up with Robyn to talk about the 'Be Mine' music video, her early rise to fame and being the boss of her own record label, Konichiwa Records.
"I Like Music because.... it's the way I want to express myself. It's not a choice. It's just always been there. It's just what I do." ROBYN
ILM: Be Mine is your next single. Please describe its vibe and how it came about? The video is lovely as well, tell us about that…
ROBYN: Well, I guess the idea came from the song really. Throughout making this album, one of the big inspirations for making it was to go back to being a teenager and how dramatic life was at some points. The first time you get heartbroken, it's really something most people remember for the rest of their lives. When we wrote the song we started to write this sad love song, to make it really obvious what the emotion we were talking about was we both thought going back to the teenagers state of mind would be a really good way of communicating this feeling. So the lyrics, they are kind of desperate and they are very vulnerable and I wanted the video to do that as well.
