Scouting For Girls chat to I Like Music

ILM: Within 12 months, you've gone from working day shifts at Threshers (you) and Carphone Warehouse (Roy) to becoming platinum-selling number 1 artists - you've touched on this already, but how does that feel?

GREG: We've wanted to do this since we were 12 year olds standing in the playground with our walkmans hidden in our blazers saying, "listen to this song, this is what we really want to do," so to get to do it is the greatest honour and privilege that any three chancers from Ruislip could ever dream.

ILM: You're living your dream, career wise, what's your advice to young people on pursuing their dream career?

GREG: It's all about perseverance and carrying on doing what you want to do regardless. We worked part-time for 10 years just trying to keep the band going. Having that self-belief … our friends started getting jobs and buying houses and getting married and you're still there living with your parents, trying to break your band and when you hit 25 you start thinking, 'hmmm, hold on.' But it's about carrying on and believing that you can do it, and then hopefully with a little bit of luck and self-belief, you can get there.
