ILM: The film is mainly about betrayal and the failure of love, which most people will be able to relate to. Why did you choose those themes to write about?
SEAN: That was just sort of what it was all about, and that was what my life was about preceding that whole project. I think there are only really a few stories really to tell in the end, and betrayal and the failure of love is one of those good stories to tell.
ILM: It must be quite cathartic to write about any emotion you've experienced too?
SEAN: Well it's kind of like, life is one thing and then you mythologise and turn it into art, and it's more exciting than life in a way. I mean that's why I like songs and film, because you can kind of turn your life into a sort of myth or dream or something.
ILM: The Friendly Fire album includes a wide range of musical styles but more traditional song structure and some unifying themes than on Into The Sun your 1998 solo debut, why was that?
