ILM: So it made him move on in the end?

SIA: It did. He's definitely bonking someone else now!

[Sia and ILM laugh]

ILM: Good. You directed the video to Pictures yourself, how was that whole experience? Was it a learning curve?

SIA: Certainly, it's always a learning curve, because I'm not really a director, I'm a pretender. I made this incredible video with my friend Daniel for Breathe Me and then I thought I was the ants pants and, since then, I've tried to make all my own videos and they've been shit to semi-shit. So Pictures was like the next most professional. It was commercial, I was making something for someone else for American Apparell or someone, for this clothing label, who wanted me to give them a song that they could use exclusively in the store and they'd give me 50 grand to make a video and I didn't have to wear any of their clothes or do a photoshoot or anything, it was just like they were throwing money at the cause. And I was like "Wild" and "I can direct" and it was the biggest budget I'd worked with, so I was pretty excited. It was awesome because we had such a good budget we really could afford to pay everyone and we could afford a large crew and cast extras and actually spend money on everything.
