Rob Cremona: ilikemusic because... Cool laid back soul, atmospheric instrumentals and the occasional gospel choirs to lift my soul.
Ellen, Los Campesinos: ilikemusic because... It’s the best form of escapism that you can have wherever you are. You could be completely miserable or waiting for a bus and put on any song that inspires you and you can escape into a little world, well that’s what I tend to do anyway.
Benedict D. Mahon Esq.: ilikemusic because... the wardrobes stop barking when the bass kicks in
Master Gee: ilikemusic because... It gives me an opportunity to truly express myself, unlike what happens in an everyday living situation where there are restrictions on you and limitations on you and demands on you and bills to pay, through music I can truly be comfortable with who I am, and do what I really want to do and say what I really want to say.
ashutosh: ilikemusic because... whatever journey you're on, you need a sountrack.
Danny: ilikemusic because... It's my life
Rob Cremona: ilikemusic because... Cool laid back soul, atmospheric instrumentals and the occasional gospel choirs to lift my soul.
Rhys, Good Shoes: ilikemusic because... It gets you moving.
dj tie one: ilikemusic because... its like cornflakes in the morning
JAS: There's no one process. The main thing we tend to do is buy something usually cheap and broken off ebay and we get it out and get it vaguely working and just plug it all together. The way we tend to work is to make a load of chaos, plug all the leads in and get everything bleeeping together. Then, all of a sudden through messing around, you'll get to a point where something catchy or unexpected happens and we'll be like 'hit record', so it's quite a jam-based process where we're just messing around and trying to guide what comes out.
The way we set it up is deliberately working against the machine so, to a certain extent, its slighly out of our control. We tend to end up with long noodling 20 minute jams that we then edit down into somethinga bit more listenable. Equally with the vocal for Hustler we built the track completely around the vocal we put on a bare beat and Sian did her thing and we edited the vocals up before we had anything. So, there's no set way. The main thing really is having something to react against, you just need something to spark off. And once we've got that usually we're off.
