It all starts with finding something that really make you stoked. And that's hard, a lot of people don't and will never find it and that's very sad, that's the source of problems for a lot of kids; they haven't found or even looked for what makes them happy in life. So it starts with that and it's also about perseverance. Because, no matter how much you like something, it's not going to happen by clicking your fingers, you have to work at it.
ILM: If you weren't a musician, what would your second career choice have been/what would you be doing if you weren't a musician?
CHUCK: I think that I always wanted to be involved in music, since I was 13 I always liked music and it has been my world so it's hard for me to consider anything else, but if I wasn't in a band, I would probably be a manager or an entertainment lawyer, that's what I was in school for, law, before I dropped out to be in the band. I only spent a year at law school, but it's something I could have been good at. Or sports, I'm into sports, especially hockey. so I perhaps could've been an agent or something.
ILM: So the law course at college must've given you a good insight into managing your own band?
CHUCK: Yes. I feel like nobody else outside the band knows what the band wants better than us. You should always firm knowledge of what you want and the compromises the band can make and cannot make. I think you should be involved; a lot of bands aren't and that's when they lose control and they wake up with no career or doing things that they hate. I feel that to be involved is the most important thing you can do as a band I'm lucky enough to be in a band with people who make their own decisions.
