Soul of Man chats to I Like Music

I can tell you something which is relevant to Paul Arnold which is quite a good story. I used to run a record shop in Camden called Vinyl Addiction until about three years ago, but I had done so for about ten years, since the mid nineties. Paul came in the shop a few times, dropping off promos and things and he said to me 'You don't remember me do you?' and I'm like 'You're Paul Arnold.' And he said 'You wrote me a letter when I lived in Ipswich....Dear Paul, please can I come and play at your club? And you sent me a cassette and you came and played for me in 1989.' And I was like 'No way' and he said 'I've still got the letter.' And I remember that when I was like 18 or 19 (I'm a bit old you see!) I was just making loads of cassettes and desperately trying to get gigs and posting them off to all these promoters and low and behold, Paul was one of them! It's come full circle.
