The Stereo MCs Interview Themselves

Nick: Do you think we could get another LP out by next Christmas 2009?

Rob: Live in the present my brother.

Nick: How has your songwriting changed since you started living by the sea?

Rob: It hasn't. I don't. And I'm ready when you are bro.

Rob's Questions To Nick

Rob: Describe your way of life…

Nick: 50% freestyle - listening, writing, playing, running, shopping, family when we're at home and writing and recording. 50% finely organized when we're on tour.

Rob: Festival food, hotel food or service station food - give preference and illustrate?

Nick: None! It's a lucky dip, mostly crap but occasional gems.

Rob: What's your ideal destination - A - For a gig? B - For a break? C - For creative work? D - For your mind and soul?

Nick: A. Greece - climate, food and people. B. Home C. Our spot for recording doesn't matter where, as long as we're feeling it. D. Bed

Rob: Which of your senses is most valuable?

Nick: Sense of perspective! If I'm having a bad day I've just gotta check myself and remember what I do for a living and how much worse it could be.

Rob: Does your life in music nurture talents or skills that you didn't realise you had, or would use, or would need?

Nick: Not sure about nurture, but I need to use skills I probably never particularly wanted to use, such as accounting, diplomacy, and organizational skills. None of which are really much to do with making music.

Rob: Name three people, things or places that inspire or rescue you when times are ruff?

Nick: My wife, my daughter, my cats and beauty in music, art and film.
