- Anyone who has shared equipment for injecting drugs
- Through a blood transfusion (before September 1991) or blood products like clotting factors (before 1986)
- By having a tattoo, ear piercing or acupuncture with equipment that is not sterile
- During medical and dental treatment abroad where equipment may not be sterilised properly
- By sharing razors or toothbrushes which have been contaminated with blood from someone who has the virus.
Remember, you don't have to feel sick to have Hepatitis C and you can have it for decades before showing obvious symptoms.
