The Bluetones Chat To ilikemusic

With a career spanning fourteen years, The Bluetones helped create the intial spark that ignited the BritPop era. This December they will be returning to their roots for a UK tour which will see them play their 1996 number one album Expecting To Fly in its entirety, including the classics Bluetonic, Cut Some Rug and A Parting Gesture.

After a brief period of solo activity, which most notably saw frontman Mark Morriss take to the road as an accoustic troubadour, the band returned in 2006 with their fifth album The Bluetones. With plans for a new album underway we caught up with Mark to chat about what fans can expect from their new music, moments he will never forget and the music he likes to listen to in his car.

"I Like Music because… it makes me feel permanently 14 years old." MARK, THE BLUETONES

ILM: You're heading out on a UK tour in December. What should fans of The Bluetones expect when they come to see you play?

Mark: For this tour we are going to be playing songs from our first album in chronological order, the order of the record. We're re-creating that experience of twelve years ago. We just thought the time was right.
