Jun: ilikemusic because... music can convey a mood, enhance a mood or change a mood. Music can be used to inspire and the artform is simple yet complicated. It's fun to listen to and even more fun to create and perform. It speaks when just a simple word can't. It's a blessing!!
Mark: I really enjoy myself when I'm out doing my solo thing and working with different musicians but the band are like my family really. Getting back with them is like getting back into a favourtie old pair of slippers!
ILM: What are the ideas and plans behind the new album?
Mark: We've started exchanging demos. I've been working on songs with Adam and songs that Scott's been sending down from Scotland. It's pretty poppy. It's not going to be our Dark Side Of The Moon. I'm really enjoying the process so far. We have a lot of catchy tunes knocking around. It's great because you never know where the next song is coming from. You have no control over your inspiration...
ILM: What are your inspirations at the moment? Musically or otherwise?
Mark: My favourite record of the year has been the MGMT album. That's a brilliant record. It's jammed full of melodies, lyrical and musical ideas. It's nice to know that the kids are alright...hahah! It's been difficult to keep up with things this year. Me and my Mrs. had a little boy so we had all of that...you can ask me anything you like about Spongebob Squarepants but when it comes to what has been in the NME lately I'm a little bit behind...
