The Cooper Temple Clause chat to I Like Music
The Cooper Temple Clause release second single from their new Make This Your Own album, 'Waiting Game' on January 8 2007, with an iTunes exclusive which went live on Christmas Day!
In the video for 'Waiting Game', TCTC reach such a level of despair at the chaos of the outside world that the band, and supporting cast, willingly descend into a giant human holding bay where they are cryogenically frozen in pods until humankind rectifies itself.
I Like Music caught up with Dan and Ben from The Cooper Temple Clause to chat about their new material, advice for other bands, and about their romanticized vision of Armageddon.
"I like music because… it makes me feel like I have friends!" DAN, THE COOPER TEMPLE CLAUSE
ILM: On January 8th your new single, Waiting Game is released with three brand new B-sides (Pulling Shapes, Last Line of Defence and For The Last Time), can you give us your own personal description of the track and it's whole vibe?
DAN: Well, the whole album was for us kind of a learning process at becoming better at our craft of songwriting, and Waiting Game was a real product of that. We stripped all the songs down to just acoustics acoustic guitar and a vocal, piano and a vocal, and that was one of the very first ones we got together. But at the last minute we felt that the recording didn't do the song justice.
