It gives me an opportunity to truly express myself, unlike what happens in an everyday living situation where there are restrictions on you and limitations on you and demands on you and bills to pay, through music I can truly be comfortable with who I am, and do what I really want to do and say what I really want to say.

So literally at the eleventh hour, we went in to the studio with a guy called Barney who'd worked with the Futureheads, and he just set us up in a room and we bashed it out live in a couple of takes and that's the version that's ended up on the album. We're very proud we had the courage to do that at the end, it was very touch and go as to whether we'd actually be able to do it. But we're very happy with the result now. It certainly sounds a lot more energetic than the one we had previously.
ILM: And of all the tracks on your forthcoming new album Make This Your Own, which one have you had the most fun in the studio recording?
