simon f baker: ilikemusic because... you can transcend the confines of the material world with it, it's probably better than shagging in fact. There is virtually nothing more satisfying than when a load of chords and words suddenly come together into a song ; suddenly everything in life seems to fit and make sense once more.
James Blunt: ilikemusic because... conversation is so limited. It’s the best form of expression we have.
Rob Miller: ilikemusic because... I liked your site.
Rob Cremona: ilikemusic because... Cool laid back soul, atmospheric instrumentals and the occasional gospel choirs to lift my soul.
Hugo, The Maccabees: ilikemusic because... I just do. I’ve always liked music. It’s just my thing.
Daniel: ilikemusic because... When you can finally stop listening to mainstream so called POP and HIPHOP
artists you laugh at how bad it really is. ROCK ON MUSE
Shabee Naqvi: ilikemusic because... it takes me away from the pains in life. It's the shoulder I cry on. It's the hug I crave for. It's the smile that lightens up my day...and it pulls me by the ear to a melodious heaven on earth.
Acoustic Jim: ilikemusic because... it'sourcery of the soul! With minor changes and combinations of harmonic frequency you can change how people feel in a heartbeat! That's real magic!
Omid16B: ilikemusic because... It makes me feel whole and makes me feel like I have my feet on the ground. It makes me feel love again and reminds me of what we are. It allows me to express myself. The whole process of going through and working was very difficult and very strenuous, but, by the time we got round to listen to what we'd done we were immensely proud and thought we were really going places. I think we really learned ourselves that … we'd always been a band that wanted to progress from album to album but that doesn't come easily, you have to work at it, and work hard and that's what we picked up on this album, because we were adamant we weren't going to rest on our laurels this time round. We were determined not to make the same album again. That would've been the biggest disappointment for everyone involved.
ILM: You've been making music for some time and have been through the rollercoaster ride of being signed, dropped, but continuing to do well… what's your advice to young musicians just starting out?
DAN: The most important thing is to just do what you do with honesty. Don't pander to anyone. You've got to be true to yourself and honest and you've got to do something that comes from the heart. Stick to your ideals, and if it catches on, fantastic, and if it doesn't catch on, it was never meant to be. But when you make music for other people and to pander to other people's ideals of what your music should be, then you lose any ability to judge your own work.
