The Feeling chat to I Like Music

ILM: Quite a difference to having made most of your debut album in your parents shed then?

CIARAN: Yes.

ILM: The track 'Without You' is a moving tale of far-from-home yearning written when the band found themselves in Virginia on the day of the Virginia Tech shootings, tell us about that and how the track evolved?

CIARAN: Dan wrote it while we were still in America, because on that last tour we were there for seven weeks, so he wrote it the next day [after the shootings] We played in an area called Norfolk in Virginia, this big naval town and the shooting happened within Virginia, so there was a bit of a strange atmosphere that night in the venue where we were playing, people didn't get involved that much and they were all quite silent and probably shook up really as you would be.
