The Mars Volta Chat To I Like Music

ILM: When you look back over your career as a musician, which moments stand out for you? What are your personal highlights?

Cedric: I recently got to meet Booker T. That was really cool as that was something my Dad made me listen to and had stressed was important! Going back as far as At The Drive In, my pinnacle with that was getting to sing with Iggy Pop! I got to direct him! Plus I played with Larry Harlow. He's one of Omar's biggest guitar influences, even though he's a piano player! We would watch this movie called Neustra Cosa, which is roughly translated as Our Latin Thing. It's about latin music and it's rise and influence and Larry Harlow appears in it. When we managed to get him to play on our record it was just incredible.
