The Music Interview
Phil: It was our first time over in Japan which is a crazy thing when you are 18. Especially when 6,000 people are willing to cram into a 5,000 capacity tent. They all knew the lyrics, even though nothing had been released and it was oppressively hot. We didn't play very well. But the crowd were insane! It was a real shock, along with the culture shock of actually going to Japan. Realisation that what we were doing was important to other cultures, as well as to people in Britain that are similar to us.
ILM: Following on from discussing memories, what would you say you are looking forward to in the future as a band?
Phil: We are really grateful that we can go and do this again. For a few years it looked as though we may never release another record, that we may never tour again. I think it is really just a case of making the most of everything as it comes along. We have seen that it can all fall apart in a matter of days.
