The Music Interview
ILM: You've had an excellent response to your new work. What a way to come back...
Phil: Yeah, it's been amazing. You know, even when all the band was resolved and we thought we had a great record, you never really know until you play to other people. We tested the water with a few small shows and they sold out straight away. People loved the new songs and we have just been building on that with each tour we have been doing. It is just a case of not taking it for granted. These might be the last set of gigs we ever do.
ILM: Are there any stand out live performances by other bands that you have seen as a punter?
Rob: I'll always remember Queens of The Stone Age. 2003 I think that was. Mind Blowing. I think it was at the point before Nick left the band, so the tension was there. Also, I think there were a lot of drugs knocking about, especially with Nick. I don't know exactly what was going on, but that's the vibe I got from it. All that tension of drug fuelled anger was just on stage and it was fucking mind-blowing. The energy that guy had. What was it...something like...he'd stay up for three or four days and then go and play a gig..haha..the songs were mega as well!

Ellen, Los Campesinos: ilikemusic because... It’s the best form of escapism that you can have wherever you are. You could be completely miserable or waiting for a bus and put on any song that inspires you and you can escape into a little world, well that’s what I tend to do anyway.
Jay Sean: ilikemusic because... It’s the soundtrack to my life.
simon f baker: ilikemusic because... you can transcend the confines of the material world with it, it's probably better than shagging in fact. There is virtually nothing more satisfying than when a load of chords and words suddenly come together into a song ; suddenly everything in life seems to fit and make sense once more.
