Tim Westwood chats to I Like Music

TIM: Staying out of trouble nowadays is incredibly difficult for young boys growing up in the scene. In the streets now it's very violent with all the robberies that take place. I'd be surprised to hear of anyone in an inner city school who hasn't been a victim of a robbery. The main thing is not to perpetuate that so, just because you've been victimized and robbed, don't raise up and start robbing other people. And I think that's the vicious cycle that's out there at the moment. That these young people are really getting victimized by the street robberies which I think are happening all around the schools now. Just like someone who is bullied often ends up a bully, you really mustn't get caught up in that man; you really need to try to live a better life than that.

Young people who get victimized like that have no way of really coping with it and their rage and anger often turns back on them becoming angry themselves, and then they get caught up in that cycle. I think that's tragic right now.
