  • Sam, Get Cape Wear Cape FlySam, Get Cape Wear Cape Fly: ilikemusic because... Music is a special thing that is not like anything else in the world. You might argue that you can translate emotions through films and through books but anyone can make music, whether that be humming or singing along to the radio, it’s something that gives enjoyment and positivity to many people.

  • dawn Leonettidawn Leonetti: ilikemusic because... it makes me spin, giggle and bubble up - kinda my own Rice Crispies cereal ("snap, crackle, pop") in the audio form...
  • simon f bakersimon f baker: ilikemusic because... you can transcend the confines of the material world with it, it's probably better than shagging in fact. There is virtually nothing more satisfying than when a load of chords and words suddenly come together into a song ; suddenly everything in life seems to fit and make sense once more.

Tim Westwood chats to I Like Music

ILM: Who's the most inspirational person you've met?

TIM: Funkmaster Flex has been very inspirational for me as a DJ and before that Marley Marl was another great DJ from those early eras.

ILM: Please describe your ideal night out and the friends you'd have with you, and also describe your perfect night in and the people you'd have share it with you.

TIM: My ideal night out really is working, so ripping down a big club is a perfect night out for me man. I hang out a lot, but I like to be in a club DJing rather than just in a club chilling. My perfect night in is an early night man, I don't really get those hours of sleep. Just to catch up on some sleep would be a blessed thing.

ILM: Normally when you're interviewed, it'd be a while before you saw it (6 weeks). But this interview can go out within a few minutes. You're all about the DIY ethic, and here at ilikemusic, we've got up off our own backs and doing something online that we couldn't do without the internet, so how does it feel to be involved in an immediate medium such as this?
