Tinie Tempah chats to ilikemusic

ILM : Can you describe the Tinie Tempah process of writing and recording such good music?

Tinie Tempah : Thank You! To be honest I can't. It's not something that's rehearsed. Most of my stuff is spontaneous and off the cuff. Let's just say anytime I hear an instrumental I REALLY get into it and I have a wicked sound engineer who makes me sound perfect!

ILM : Loads of people are using the internet these days and getting their music out there before even getting a record deal. How has the internet affected you and your music?

Tinie Tempah : I don't think my music would have reached out to as many people as it has, this quickly, without it, but at the same time, I believe more people would feel the need to go out and buy my music if it wasn't so easily accessible. However, the Internet is a very useful tool. I can finish a track and it can be on 10 different radio stations on the same day. Also, networking sites like MySpace and Facebook help me get a rough idea of the kind of people that like my music. I've got like 50,000 friends on MySpace, so I can keep them updated with new releases, tours dates etc. All in all, I'd say it's done more good for my music than bad.
